Arthur "Tip" Tipton, 95, of Paducah died at 10:34 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Tipton was born in Day Brook, N.C., April 30, 1915, to the late John and Minnie Whitson Tipton. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a retired maintenance worker for the Paducah City School System. He served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, during World War II.
He is survived by three daughters, Delphine "Tootie" Colson and husband, Glen, of Murray, Wilma Johnson and husband, Robert, of Symsonia, Marcia Tipton of Brookfield, Wisconsin; one son, Royce Tipton and wife, Vernonia, of Oak Level, Ky. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 27 great -grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Danny Guess officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
