Aurela Burgess

Funeral services for Aurela W. Burgess, age 94, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Michael Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Burgess died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Superior Care Home of Paducah.
Born in Benton, Ky., Mrs. Burgess was a long-time member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church. She worked as a cook for the Paducah School System and was a retired cook for Cardinal Carriers Inc.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by two daughters, Kay Edwards and her husband Sterling of Paducah, and Daisy Scott of Ledbetter; and four grandchildren, Tracy Scott, Trevor Scott, Vanessa Obando and Ethan G. Edwards. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her husband, William Milton Burgess; three brothers; and one great-granddaughter, April Dawn Scott. Her parents were James Wesley and Lora Faughn Lovett.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
