Bayless "Stonie" Stone, 84, of Paducah passed away at 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Lourdes Hospital.
Mr. Stone was a retired electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #816. He was a member of the American Legion Post #31 in Paducah and Post #116 in Princeton, Ky. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1115 in Princeton. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Boxer and the U.S.S. Roosevelt. He was also an avid UK fan.
Mr. Stone is survived by his daughter, Kim Stone of Chicago, Ill.; nephew, Gordon "Stonie" Glenn of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-nephews, Christopher Glenn of Orlando, Fla., Michael Glenn of Orlando, Fla., and Matt Durham of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlin (Ray) Stone; sister, LaRue Stone Glenn. His parents were B.M. and Mary (Wadlington) Stone.
Funeral services for Bayless M. Stone will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Memorial Park.
