Betty King

Betty Sue Hampton King, 81, of Paducah died Friday, January 8, 2016 at Lourdes
Hospital.

She was born October 5, 1934 in Paducah, KY to her parents, Opal Thomasson and
Vernon Rankin Hampton where she lived her whole life. She was a member of Reidland
Baptist Church and formerly Oaklawn Baptist Church. She retired from Citizens Bank and
Trust Co. after 27 years of service.

Betty enjoyed traveling, camping, genealogy research and most of all her family.
She was the heart of a large family and is survived by her loving husband of 63 years,
Thomas King; three daughters, Marlin Wainscott, Aimee (Gary) Hearell, and Lynda
(Michael) Young all of Paducah. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Britton
Wainscott of Paducah, Lyndsey Young (Zane) Stanfill of Louisville, Regan Wainscott of
Paducah, Cheston Wainscott of Little Rock, AR, Jordan Hearell of Paducah, Alex Hearell
of Murray, Trent Young of Centreville, VA, Kurt Young of Paducah; 6 great-grandchildren;
half-brother, Bob Anderson of Paducah; half-sister, Verna Marie Harrellson of
Indianapolis, IN; and many cousins She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Thomasson Meyers; step-father, Charles Meyers; father, Vernon Rankin Hampton; son, Mark Cheston King.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Hughes Funeral
Home of Paducah with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn
Park Cemetery of Paducah.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:0 PM Monday, January 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
