Billie Ruth Collins, 82, of Paducah went to be with the Lord at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital.
She was a native of McCracken County and a member of Broadway Church of Christ. She spent her life as a dedicated wife and mother, teaching her children and grandchildren to love God.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Ann Collins Fiorita and husband Ted of Paducah and Mary Kathryn Collins Lane and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, La.; four grandchildren, Angela Fiorita of Los Angeles, Calif., James Griffin of Nashville, Tenn., and Katy Griffin and Beky Shepherd, both of Baton Rouge, La.; and four great-grandchildren, Laura Love Griffin of Memphis, Tenn., Lilli Rose Griffin of Baton Rouge, La., James Ashley Griffin of San Francisco, Calif., and Christian Maddox Johnston of Baton Rouge, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Collins; four brothers; and three sisters. Her parents were Thomas Riley and Ora Mae Hall McElroy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dan Owen officiating. Entombment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
