Carl P. Murt Sr., 79, of Paducah died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Murt was a retired plumber and pipefitter and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union No.184 where he received an award of recognition for 60 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of Gospel Mission Church in Reidland.
Surviving are his wife, Lois June Tucker Murt; one daughter, Shelly Turner of Naples, Fla.; two sons, Carl P. Murt Jr. and Keith Murt, both of Paducah; two brothers, Gene Murt and Paul Murt, both of Paducah; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Daphene Marie Mungle Murt and one brother. His parents were John P. and Mildred Wallace Murt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. John Offutt officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
