Charles Edgar Brown Jr., 88, of Paducah died at 8 a.m. Saturday at his home.
He was a native of Decatur, Ala., and a member of Heartland Worship Center. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Arra Nell Beasley Brown; one daughter, Rena Michelle Adams of Golo; one son, Jay Steven Kaneta of Paducah; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Roedemier; and a sister. His parents were Charles Edgar and Aubrey Bell Brown.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Farris Sahawneh officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until the funeral hour today at the funeral home.
