BENTON, Ky. - Graveside services for Charles F. Spees, 79, of Benton will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with the Rev. John Meadors officiating.
Mr. Spees died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Paducah and retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Mr. Spees was a member of Benton First Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during the Korean War.
Mr. Spees is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Meadors Spees; one son, Chuck Spees of Paducah; two daughters, Kathy Spees of Benton and Mindy Bowens and husband James of Benton; three grandchildren, James M. Bowens and Rebekah Bowens, both of Benton, and Samantha Spees of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were John Thomas Spees and Lillian Coleman Spees.
