Claudia Downs

Claudia Downs, 77, of Paducah, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Claudia was born in Paducah on February 18, 1944 to the late Robert “Bob” Holman and Verna Jean Stubblefield Holman. She worked as a teaching assistant where she touched the lives of many children she grew to love like her own. She was a fantastic mother and “Gammie.” Claudia was a social butterfly and the queen bee of the Red Hat Society. No matter where she went, she never met a stranger. Claudia enjoyed spending time crocheting, talking and shopping. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Dixon and husband, Todd of Lovelaceville; her son, Allan Downs of Apex, North Carolina; one sister, Regina Vaughn (Kerry) of Reidland; her step-mother, Linda Holman of Paducah; five grandchildren, Brittany Glisson (Adam), Tiffany Rust (Caitlyn), Devon Dixon, Justin Miller and Hannah Dixon; three great-grandchildren, Owen Glisson, Adyson Scott and Jessalynn Scott and her lifelong best friend, Sarah Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bobbi Jean Williams.

A graveside service for Claudia will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Bro. Joel Beal officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
