Thursday, April 01 2010 Dalton Lee Artis of Metropolis, Ill., passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
Dalton was the infant son of John "Chris" Artis and Veletta Artis and surrogate mother, Paula McManus, all of Metropolis, Ill. He is also survived by three brothers, Shawn McManus and Justice Artis, both of Metropolis, Ill., and Christopher Artis of Indianapolis, Ind.; his grandfather, James "Jimmy" McManus; his grandmother, Annette McManus of Metropolis, Ill.; his grandmother, Karan Grace and stepgrandfather Freddie Grace of Paducah; his grandfather, Johnny Artis and stepgrandmother Carol Artis of Paducah; his great-grandparents, Sylvia Blankenship, Grace Sims, Robert E. Lee and stepgreat-grandmother Martha Lee, all of Paducah; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by four great-grandfathers; two great-grandmothers; one aunt; and one uncle.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Glover officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
