Services for Dessie L. Jones Askew, 46, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Revs. James L. Hudson and W.G. Harvey will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
She died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Lourdes hospital.
She was a teacher's aide with Paducah schools. She was a former member of Nehemiah Christian Ministries and served as pianist and music director of the Church of the Living God CWFF. She was a graduate of Lansing High School in Lansing, Mich.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Howard Jerome Askew; one daughter, Gajarah Garrett of Paducah; one son, Anthony Davis of Paducah; her mother and stepfather, Georgia Mae Radford and Rev. Norris Albert Radford of Paducah; her father, Roy Lee Potter of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Carmen Hinnant of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, Tony Dean Jones of Cordova, Tenn., and William Thomas Jones and Laird Jones, both of Dallas; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the church.
Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
