Services for Dontell Thomas Jefferson Jr., 18, of Paducah will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Barbara Burrage and Ronnie Coneal officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mr. Jefferson died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday at Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, Ga.
He was a junior at Paducah Tilghman High School, where he was a wide receiver for the football team and ran relays for the track team. Mr. Jefferson was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Dontell Thomas Jefferson Sr. of Madison, Wis., and Tracey Ann Cornwell Jefferson of Paducah; his stepmother, Toshima Jackson of Madison; five brothers, LeJuan Jefferson, Tre' Jefferson and NeJwan Jefferson, all of Paducah, and Dontrel Jefferson and Isaiah Jefferson, both of Madison; five sisters, Tagan Cornwell of Paducah and Tatianna Jefferson, Tanaya Crawford, Jayla Crawford and India Jefferson, all of Madison; his grandparents, Robert and Alice Patterson of Paducah and Audria Jefferson and Billy Shell of Madison; a stepgrandmother, Anita Sims of Madison; one niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
