Edith Marie McCreary, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Lourdes hospital.
Mrs. McCreary was a native of Cadiz. She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She was awarded the Duchess of Paducah in 1975 and was a Kentucky Colonel. She coached softball for 20 years and was a foster parent for 10 years. She was a former president of the Democratic Women's Auxiliary, president of the Women's Democratic Club, and a former president of the Women's Auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Marie Lanison of Paducah; five grandchildren, Valeria Woodford, Melvin "Butchie" Woodford Jr., Jeffery Larrison, Kimberly Tucker and Ricky Larrison; and seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Nicky, Josh, Jennifer, Desiree and Addison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy McCreary; her parents, George Blaine Moore and Maggie Mae Stonum Moore; and five brothers.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Dr. E. Lee James officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, at Keeling Family Funeral Home, 2410 Jackson St.
