Services for Ernest DeMumbree, 79, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rev. Jamie Broome will officiate.
Mr. DeMumbree died at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital.
He served with the 24th Division, 5th RCT as corporal of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a Paducah firefighter from 1959 to 1991, serving as captain when he retired. He served as liaison officer for former Mayor Albert Jones from 1995 to 2000.
Surviving are his wife, Valerie DeMumbree; one sister, Doris Ball of Fairfield Bay, Ark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Cliff DeMumbree; his first wife, Elaine DeMumbree; one brother; and one sister. His parents were Ernest and Lona Lee Davis DeMumbree.
