Fred Morgan Jr., 69, of Paducah, Ky., died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Lourdes hospital.
He was born in Paducah, Ky., and was the former owner of Fred Morgan Insurance Company. Mr. Morgan was retired from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. He was a member and Elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and attended Murray State. Mr. Morgan served as former Vice-President of the Kentucky Young Democrats, Past Chairman of the McCracken County Democratic Party, and was Past President of the Southside Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Jett Morgan of Paducah, Ky.; one daughter, Mollie Morgan Driver of Madison, Wis.; one brother, Ron L. Morgan of Paducah, Ky.; two grandchildren, Daniel Morgan Driver and Alex McLeod Driver, both of Madison, Wis.; nephews, Paul T. Jett of Pinehurst, N.C., Ron E. Morgan and Greg L. Morgan, both of Paducah, Ky.; nieces, Dr. Ellen Jett Wilson of La Plata, Md., and Leeann Morgan Crabtree of Paducah, Ky.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred H. and Zada Brown Morgan; and one sister, Emma Nell Morgan.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Don Barger officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
