Fredrickia Jones Hargrove, 70, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 6:48 a.m., at Baptist Health Paducah.
Fredrickia was a member of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church where she had served as church clerk ,sang in the church choir, served in the Missionary Society and the Culinary Committee.
She graduated from Murray High School and later graduated from Murray State University where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Arts degrees in English. She retired after 27 years of service from the Paducah Independent School System. She was also a former employee with the Murray State University's Project Upward Bound.
She was a member of the West Kentucky Green Valley District Women's Association; Beta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Paducah-McCracken County NAACP and McCracken County Community Career Endowment Board of Directors.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert W. Hargrove of Paducah; one daughter, Roberta Morgan of Mt. Olive, AL; one son, Fredrick Winston Hargrove of Paducah; three sisters, Anita Crowe and Ann Foster, both of Murray and Doryce Thomas of Bowling Green; two brothers, Baron Jones and Brent Jones, both of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Vernon Jones and Maeola Cogdell Jones and one brother.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend K. Deon Wade and Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Beta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. of Paducah will conduct rites at 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
