Helen Marie Blankenship McLain died at 2:23 A.M. on May 6, 2007 at Superior Care Home where she had been a resident five years.
Born September 23, 1915 in Bayou, Mrs. McLain was the daughter of Alfred and Cora Blankenship. She married James McLain in Florida and lived there several years before returning to Kentucky. She was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, member of St. Mark's Methodist Church and later St. Luke Aldersgate UM, and a worker for R.S.V.P.
Mrs. McLain is survived by two sons, Bill (Cookie) McLain and Jim (Jan) McLain, of Paducah, and a daughter, Jane Hart, of Newton, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Alan (Ann Marie) McLain, Mansfield, TX; Lee (Mollie) Hart, Chicago, IL; Brooke (Tyler) Krauss, Freeburg, IL; Carrie (Steven) Runyon, Louisville; and Christa McLain, Nashville, TN. In addition, she had four great-grandsons: Connor and Jacob McLain, Evan Hart, and Lain Krauss.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and a brother, Glynn Blankenship.
Funeral services will be Tuesday May 8, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 A.M. on Tuesday May 8, 2007 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
