Howard "Butch" Lamon, 71, of Paducah passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 7:55 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was the former owner of Standard Auto Parts in Paducah and a salesman for McKeel Equipment Company for over 20 years. Mr. Lamon was a member of Strathmoor Baptist Church and a volunteer firefighter for Cunningham Fire Department. In his earlier years, Butch Lamon had owned and worked on race cars, a sport which he loved. He enjoyed woodworking but most important was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated brother, uncle and friend.
Howard "Butch" Lamon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Boswell Lamon; one daughter. Cathy Johnson and husband Joe of Cunningham; and three grandchildren, Luke and Erica Dunker and Malley Johnson, all of Cunningham. He leaves behind two sisters, Iris Singletary and Joy Walden, both of Paducah; five nieces; five nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Edgar Lamon and Zelphia Catherine Joyce Lamon; an infant daughter, Pamela Jean Lamon; and a sister, Jean Elrod.
Funeral services for Howard "Butch" Lamon will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with burial in Maplelawn Memorial Park.
