Services for Ima Jo Cothran, 86, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Lindsey Funeral Home with John Offitt, Terry Henderson and Billy Riley officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cothran died at 9:14 p.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital.
She worked as a caregiver at Parkview Convalescent Center. She was a member of Gospel Mission Worship Center. She was formerly employed at Paducah Public Schools Cafeteria, and retired from Lourdes hospital as a CNA. She taught Sunday School at a previous church she attended because she had a great interest in young people. She loved her family and was instrumental in keeping them all happy, helping them in many ways, and holding the family close with loving prayer.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Tilman Cothran of Sharpe; two grandsons, Bradley Tilman Cothran and wife, Elizabeth and Zachary Hamilton Cothran, both of Sharpe; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Elise Cothran and Samantha Ann Cothran, both of Sharpe; two brothers, the Rev. Paul G. Peck of Paducah and Wayne Earl Peck of Reidland; one sister, Irma L. Wright of Paducah; her loving caregiver, Shelby who was by her side for four years; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tilman Cothran, who gave his life for his country in World War II; one sister, Ruby Inez Dawes; two brothers, Guy D. Peck and Murriel Don "Lefty" Peck; and one nephew, Larry Eugene Wright. Her parents were the Rev. Ezra N. Peck and Vivian Lavina Waller Peck.
