Irene Rankin

Irene M. Rankin, a former long-time resident of this city, passed away on May 21st.
She had moved to Williamsburg, Virginia in 2004. She was the daughter of Louis A. Walters and Josephine Roetteis Walters. Her husband of 47 years, Richard H. Rankin, preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by her son, Richard R. Rankin and daughter-in-law, Anne G. Rankin of Williamsburg, Virginia. Also surviving are two grandsons, Brian Rankin of Phoenix, Arizona and Daniel Rankin of Oakton, Virginia; two great-grandsons, Justin and Jason Rankin of Oakton, Virginia; two brothers, Ray and Joe Walters, both of Louisville, Ky.; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25th, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of choice.
