James L. Denton, 88, of Paducah died Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Denton was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Denton; one daughter, Mahala Avery of Russellville, Ala.; one sister, Frances Nickens of California; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Angie Smothers; two brothers, and two sisters. His parents were James B. and Sibbie Denton.
Services will be at noon today at Lindsey Funeral Home with Michael Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
