Jean Morris

ROOKPORT, Ill. - Mrs. Jean Ann Morris, age 63, of Brookport passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Western Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Brookport Funeral Home. Rev. Jon Cockrel and Rev. Glenn Seaton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah, Ky.

Mrs. Morris was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Metropolis First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Universe Chapter 508, National Association Postal Supervisors, and Beta Sigma Phi Eta Rho Chapter.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dale Morris of Brookport; mother, Connie Gower of Brookport; daughter, Valerie Lesniak and husband Matthew of Lexington, S.C.; son, Jason Morris and wife Jessica of Metropolis; and 3 grandchildren, Bohdi Morris of Metropolis, Olivia and Lucas Lesniak, both of Lexington, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Gower.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 2, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brookport Funeral Home. Eastern Star Rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.
