Jesse Weaver Wickham Jr., 85, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at St. Lucie Medical Center.
Mr. Wickham was born June 1, 1923, in Paducah, Ky., and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 36 years, moving from Hyattsville, Md.
After serving in the Navy during WW II, he worked in finance for the Department of the Army for 31 years, and served as the Army Representative on the Department of Defense Military Pay and Allowance Committee. In 1968, he was awarded the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award. He was a faithful member of the Fist United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie, Fla., having served over twenty years as Finance Secretary.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mae Richey; father, J. Weaver Wickham; and stepfather, William Clifton Richey.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maplelawn Park Cemetery officiated by Gregory Waldrop.
