BROOKPORT, Ill. - Funeral services for Jewel P. Hardin, 82, of Brookport will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel with Rev. Larry Lunsford officiating. Entombment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Paducah. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military graveside rites.
Mr. Hardin passed away at 3:33 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
He was a member of Garfield Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Mr. Hardin was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from McDonnell-Douglas.
Mr. Hardin is survived by his wife, Zelma Powell Hardin; one daughter, Charlene Roth and husband, Michael, of St. Louis; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Vesta Palmer Hardin; one brother, Charles Hardin; and one sister, Etta Bell Hardin.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 544 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, KY 42003.
