Services for Joanna Hawthorne, 81, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Darvin Adams officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hawthorne died at 3 a.m. Sunday at Medco Center of Paducah.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Paducah. She was a retired Western Baptist Hospital nurse. She was a member of St. James C.M.E. Church, serving in the Mildred Senter Missionary Society and Beazelles, and was a former Sunday school superintendent and teacher. She was a member of Church Women United, Civic-Mu-so-Lit and the Senior Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Hawthorne; two brothers; and one sister. Her parents were Frenzo and Vera Reaves Stubblefield.
She is survived by five cousins, including Mark Stubblefield of Paducah.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. today at Mundy Funeral Home. Special visitation will be at St. James C.M.E. Church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the funeral hour
