John Floyd

Obituary for John F. Floyd
John F. Floyd, age 92, of Paducah, KY, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 11:20 a.m. at his home.


Mr. Floyd was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, a charter member of Rolling Hills Country Club, a member of Elks Club, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Decorated Veteran having served under General George S. Patton in WWII. He was an avid supporter of the UK Wildcats Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball.


Mr. Floyd is survived by his daughter, Lisa Floyd Chapman and husband Tony of Hendersonville, TN; two sons, John Floyd and wife Gina of Paducah, KY, Hal Nance Bogard and wife Elizabeth of Louisville, KY; seven grandchildren, Brandon Chapman, April Thomas and husband Corey, Eleanor MacLeod and husband John, Nancy Bogard, Johnna Floyd Key and husband Jon, Creighton Floyd, Chanyng Floyd; two great-grandchildren, Juliet MacLeod and Miles MacLeod; special friend, Shirley Renaud of Paducah, KY and "Geezer" Golf friends at Rolling Hills, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Lee Nance Floyd; parents, John Clarence and Susan Edna Wedding Floyd; one sister, Magdeline Bonnell; two brothers, Milburn "Mel" Floyd, Richard "Dick" Floyd.


Funeral mass for Mr. Floyd will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Floyd will be held at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
