John McGinnis

ohn B. "J.B." McGinnis, 87, of Collinsville, Texas, formerly of Paducah, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville, Texas.

Mr. McGinnis was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and served on several committees including sound system and assisted with the youth. He was a retired plant photographer for Union Carbide and a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.

Mr. McGinnis is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marilyn Jane Cain McGinnis; a son, Michael Wayne McGinnis of Collinsville, Texas; three grandchildren, Samantha McGinnis of Cave Creek, Ariz., Michael Lapp of Orlando, Fla., and Tracy McRae of Collinsville, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Meaghan Fraser, Taylor Wilson and Alexandra Lapp.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C. McGinnis.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
