Services for John W. Smith, 63, of Paducah, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah. The Rev. Stephen Thren will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Metropolis, Ill.
He was head of food services at McCracken County Regional Jail and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by three brothers, Herb Smith of Paducah, Lawrence Smith of Brookport, Ill., and Eddie Smith of Paducah; one sister, Jean Gardner of California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell Smith. His parents were Lasta and Anna Brasher Smith.
