Johnnie Gibbs

KEVIL - Johnnie B. Gibbs, 82, of Kevil, Ky., passed away at 3:43 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital.

She was a native of Paducah, Ky. Johnnie worked for Union Carbide and then for Food World IGA in West Paducah for 31 years. She was a member of New Liberty United Methodist Church.

Johnnie is survived by her husband, David Gibbs; daughters, Georgia Freeman and husband Dr. Roger Freeman of Paducah, Ky., and Denise Bronaugh and husband Jim Bronaugh of Franklin, Tenn.; son-in-law, Farrell Beyer of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Stacie Prigge and husband Mark Prigge of Lexington, Ky., David Beyer of Paducah, Ky., Jennifer Meacham and husband Kevin Meacham of Hopkinsville, Ky., Sarah Beyer of Louisville, Ky., and Abby Bronaugh and Jessie Bronaugh, both of Franklin, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Chandler Prigge, Carsyn Prigge and Caden Prigge, all of Lexington, Ky., and Gracey Meacham, Griffen Meacham and Garrison Meacham, all of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and niece, Theresa Wright of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

Johnnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Beyer; great-grandson, Turner Meacham; and two brothers. Her parents were George and Rosa Mathis Belcher.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Joel Jackson and the Rev. Scott Speight officiating. Entombment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today, January 10, 2011, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
