Kermit L. Ragsdale, 87, of Paducah died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a member of New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church and a retiree of the Kentucky highway department.
He is survived by three sons, Terry Ragsdale of Paducah and Wayne Ragsdale and Bobby Ragsdale, both of Vicksburg, Miss.; three stepsons, Edward Tyler and Leroy Tyler, both of Detroit, and John Tyler of Paducah; three daughters, Deloris Ragsdale Elliott of Cincinnati and Frankie Ragsdale Drew and Connie Ragsdale Smith, both of Paducah; four stepdaughters, Edna Tyler Allen, Ellener Tyler Deboe and Ella Tyler Mayes, all of Paducah, and Mamie Tyler Austin of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister, Theresa Ragsdale Washington of Detroit; 31 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Tyler Ragsdale; a son, Richard Cleo Ragsdale; a brother; and three sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. The Rev. W.G. Harvey will officiate, and burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the church.
