Services for Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Greif Jr., 86, of Paducah will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maplelawn Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Charles Frazier officiating. Burial with military rites will follow.
Mr. Greif died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday at his home.
A native of Paducah, he was a 1939 graduate of Tilghman High School and a U.S. Army signal corps sergeant, serving in World War II. Mr. Greif was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local No. 816. He owned several restaurants, including Greif's Restaurant. Mr. Greif was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Rotary Club and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mattie Greif; two sons, Larry Dean Greif of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Lawrence Joseph Greif III of Paducah; one daughter, Sandra Jeanne Sandage of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Ronald Ray Nichols and Charles David Nichols, both of Paducah; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His parents were Lawrence Joseph Greif and Margaret Jeanne Freil Greif.
Friends may call after noon Thursday at Lindsey Funeral Home.
