KEVIL, Ky. - Lettie Sue Dowdy, 77, of Kevil died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Paducah Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Dowdy was born on Sept. 9, 1929, and was a door greeter at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Paducah and member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 543 in Kevil.
Surviving are her husband, John Henry Dowdy; two daughters, Pat Flowers of West Paducah and Paula Hammonds of Ledbetter; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Pennebaker of Kevil; one son, Joe Flowers of La Center; two stepsons, Randy Dowdy and Tony Dowdy, both of Kevil; two sisters, Peggy Champion of Paducah and Lena Flowers of Kevil; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elza Lee Flowers; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Sullivan; two sisters, Dorothy Moss and Edna Spaulding; and two brothers, Leonard Leigh and James Leigh. Her parents were Erwin and Jimmie Lou Creaty Canter Leigh.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at the funeral home.
