Lillian Wallace Hook died at age 98 on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, IL.
Mrs. Hook was a longtime member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Paducah and served for many years in the Western Baptist Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are her two daughters, Dawne Hook Robertson (Robert W. Jr.) of Paducah and Susan Hook Picon (John) of Castle Rock, Colo.; four grandchildren, Robert W. Robertson III (Ashley) of Nashville, Tenn., McCall Yancey (John) of Nashville, Tenn., Brooke Robertson of Asheville, N.C., and Michael W. Sloan of Paducah. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Caroline and Claire Yancey and Eleanor and Charlotte Robertson, all of Nashville, Tenn., Jack Sloan of Reidland, Piper Sloan of Paducah; special niece, Sylvia Mitchell of Metropolis, Ill., two cousins, Zelma White and Katherine Flowers of Paducah; and three nephews.
A special friend for many years was Tootsie Brown of Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Hook; parents, Marlie Wallace and Lydia Barnes Wallace; sister, Florence Wallace Mathis; and a brother, William Atwood Wallace.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of the arrangements.
The family gives a special thanks to the management and staff of both Superior Care Nursing Home in Paducah and Southgate Nursing Home on Metropolis.
