Lottie, better known as Millie, age 93, spent her younger years with sisters Bertral Bivin
(deceased) and Tossie Warford growing up in Paducah, Kevil and Lone Oak attending Whittier
Grade School and graduating from Lone Oak High School. After moving to Detroit to work at
Chrysler, she met her future husband Arthur Dawe. They married at 12th Street Baptist Church
in l945 after pleading for a bus ticket from Brooks Bus Line, which were very hard to come by due
to the war. Her 45 year marriage ended when Art passed away, leaving a hole that could never be
filled in her heart. Her children Arthur (Colleen) Dawe, Robert (Patti) Dawe and Nancy (Greg)
Champlin were raised in Michigan and Ohio before settling down in Illinois where she has lived
for 52 years. Her grandchildren, Bobby (Josie) Dawe, Amber (Matt) Heffner, Gina Hopkins, the
late Dustin Dawe, Justin Champlin, Austin (Amanda) Champlin and 6 great grandchildren
completed her family. Beloved nieces Rudele Orazine and Lunele Leonard, along with her sisters,
great niece Dannette Foulke, friends Alberta Davis, Linda Meadows, all from Paducah and family
spread across the United States visited her often and brought her immense happiness. A small
private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 16 at Maplelawn Cemetery led by
Danny Orazine, a nephew special to her heart. For additional information708-798-5300.
