McGinnis, Marilyn

Marilyn Jane McGinnis, 87, of Gainesville TX, formerly of Paducah, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Gainesville Health & Rehab Center in Gainesville, TX.

Ms. McGinnis was born on October 5, 1926 in Paducah, KY, to the late Adofus Paxton Cain and Mayme Ola Stark Cain. She worked at Clausner's Hosiery Mills and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was very active with the youth, taught Sunday school, and also served on several committees.

She is survived by one son, Michael Wayne McGinnis and wife, Georgia, of Collinsville, TX; one sister, Barbara Jean Stubbe, of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Samantha McGinnis, Michael Lapp, and Tracy McRae; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. McGinnis is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. McGinnis; two sisters, Elizabeth Nelms and her twin sister, Carolyn Jo Pratt and one brother, James Paxton Cain.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
