SMITHLAND, Ky. - Martha Harrington Hooks, 76, of Smithland died at 7:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mrs. Hooks was retired secretary to the Judge Executive of Livingston County. She was a member of Smithland First Baptist Church, Smithland Homemakers, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Democrat Party of Livingston County, and Women's Democrat Party of Livingston County.
Surviving are four sons, Herman B. Harrington Jr. and wife, Gail, of Louisville, Bruce Harrington of Paducah, Curtis Harrington of Calvert City, and Robert Harrington and wife, Reneé, of Calvert City; one stepson, Douglas Hooks and wife, Pat, of Martin, Tenn.; one sister, Peggy Lambert and husband, Tommy, of Paducah; two brothers, J.B. Thompson and wife, Linda, of Lone Oak and Wilbur Thompson of Paducah; 10 grandchildren, Chris Harrington of Paducah, Jason Harrington of Lexington, Kolby Harrington and Danan Harrington of Memphis, Tenn., Kathryn Harrington of Louisville, Matthew Hooks of Paducah, Lee Hooks of Nashville, Tenn.; Jennifer Heady of Calvert City, Hope Winstead of Benton and Ryan Winstead of Paducah; three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Grace Heady of Calvert City and Riley Winstead of Calvert City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman B. Harrington Sr., and her second husband, Floyd G. Hooks. Her parents were W.E. "Cotton" Thompson and Aline Quertermous Thompson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Mike Donald officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at the funeral home.
