Mary Rogers Handley, age 93 of Paducah went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home.
Mary was born on July 26, 1927 in Corinth, Mississippi to the late Clifford and Eva Nelms Rogers. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting countless quilts for her family and friends. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a transcriptionist at both local hospitals. She was also an office manager at different doctor and insurance offices in Paducah.
Mary was a devoted Christian and member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was on many church committees. For over 40 years, she served in the nursery and little children's department where she was affectionately called “Miss Mary.”
She is survived by her sister, Martha Rogers Scent of Louisville; one niece and eight nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Herbert “Herb” Wayne Handley; her daughter, Buff W. Handley; her parents; one sister, Della Boaz Smith; and two brothers, Harry Rogers and Thomas Clark Rogers.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating.
