Mary Jones

Mary Elwanda Jones, 84, of Paducah died Monday evening at 3:02 p.m.
Mary had been a member of West End Baptist Church for 71 years and a Sunday School teacher for 38 years. She was a retired bookkeeper for City of Paducah from 1957-1983, a 1942 graduate of Tilghman High School and was a recipient of the Sun-Democrat Scholarship (two years) to Paducah Junior College in 1942.
Services will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with Revs. Terry Sills and Larry Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010 after 5:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 12:00 noon on Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Jones is survived by three daughters, Janice C. Christensen of San Diego, CA, Joyce M. Harned (David) of Dallas, TX and Judy F. Starr (Jim) of Louisville, KY; and two sons, Larry W. Jones of Chattanooga, TN and Roger M. Jones (Sharon) of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Ellen Robertson (Jim) of Seattle, WA, nine grandchildren, Angelique Frederick (David), Larry W. Jones, Jeffery M. Jones, Keith Jones (Sarah), Jonathon P. Geralds, Curtis W. Jones and Justin T. Geralds (Jill), Matthew C. Christensen (Carissa) and Melody R. Jackson (Joe). She leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, Aaron W. Frederick, Chelsea A. Frederick, Niki Jones, Andrew Jones, Emily Jones, Chloe Jones, Aaron Jones, Caleb Jackson, Makayla Jackson, Jack Geralds, Christopher Christensen and Lilly Geralds; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Artel Jones, and her parents Elmer Hallie and Stella Curtis Watson.
