Mary S. Blake, 97, of Paducah died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Superior Care Home.
Mrs. Blake was a member of Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church, Paducah Delphic Club, a 50-year member of United Methodist Women, a 50-year member of Eastern Star Clara Hendrix Chapter No. 424, served as a volunteer for Lourdes Hospice and was a retired teacher at Clark Elementary, where she was active in PTA.
Survivors include one son, Charles A. Blake and wife Caroline of Woodburn, Ore.; one daughter, Martha Nell Peck and husband Don; six grandchildren, Kathy Peck Golliher and husband David and Karla Peck Helm, both of Fort Myers, Fla., Chip Black and wife Victoria of Canyon Country, Calif., Amy Black Voelker and husband Mike of Gladstone, Ore., Kevin Peck and wife Marcie and Kerrie Peck, both of Paducah; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Golliher, Josh Golliher, Chad Golliher, all of Fort Myers, Katie and Lexi Voelker of Gladstone, and Trevor and Brandon Peck of Paducah; family friend, Cathy Hayden; two nieces, Martha Ann Hobbs of Radcliff and Mary Smith of Bozeman, Mont.; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene L.D. Blake; stepmother, Dora Smith; two brothers; and one sister. Her parents were Albert Ballard Smith II and Nell Ward Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Roth Funeral Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Dr. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
