Orville E. Jordan 87, of Brookport, Illinois was called home by our lord on June 12, 2015 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield where he was hospitalized.
Funeral services will be 1:00P.M. Monday, June 15, 2015 at The Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
Mr. Jordan was born June 17, 1927 to Woodford and Dora May Jordan of Peroia, IL. He served in the military as an aircraft mechanic. His life's work was as design engineer. He also had a degree in electrical engineering, and plumbing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Metropolis where he was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school for many years.
Mr. Jordan is survived by one son David Jordan of Paducah, three daughters, Ruth Pierce of Lanesville, IN; Johannah Huyck of Paducah, and Jeanie Kidd of Paducah, one step daughter Judy Neely of Metropolis, IL, and 2 Step-sons Frankie Clapp of Brookport IL, and Kenneth (Poncho) Clapp of Paducah. 23 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodford and Dora May Jordan of Peoria, IL; wife, Betty Jordan of Brookport, IL; a daughter, Susanna Starks; a step son, Ronnie Clapp; and a grandson, Dewey Mahmet.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Brookport Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Metropolis.
