Owen 'Linn' Kerth, 87, formerly of Paducah, Ky., died in Montana on Monday, September 27, 2010.
Born on November 22, 1922, to Owen August and Della Mae Kerth of Paducah, Ky. He was a proud member of the AFL-CIO and the IBEW. Linn's career with the IBEW began in Paducah as he was quickly promoted through the ranks and achieved the position of business manager of Local 816. In 1959, Linn moved to Frankfort, Kentucky, to become appointed as Commissioner of Labor for the state of Kentucky. In 1963, Linn was promoted to IBEW's Washington, D.C. office and served as an International Representative until his retirement.
Linn was granted membership status to Paducah's Masonic Lodge No. 127 in 1952.
Survivors include three children, Robert Linn Kerth, Kimberly Lane and Owen Christopher Kerth. Mr. Kerth had three grandchildren, Jessica, Benjamin, and Madison; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Samantha and Natalie.
A memorial service will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 1 p.m., and inurnment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
The family requests that any remembrance be made to their local Alzheimer's Association in Mr. Kerth's honor.
