Ramond Rudd

Raymond T. "Daddy Rudd" Rudd, 97, of Paducah, died Wednesday at Lourdes hospital.

Raymond was born August 3, 1913, in Madisonville, Ky., to the late Thad and Ruth Reynolds Rudd. He was the retired owner and operator of Baynhan's Shoe Store, which was located at 4th and Broadway. He was also the oldest male member and former Deacon at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ.

Surviving are his children, Mary Jo Brown (Raymon) of Dalton, Ga., David (Lucinda) Rudd of Paducah, Janie Throgmorton (Richard) of Paducah, and Loraye Jones (Tom) of Lexington, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Jerry (Angela) Watkins, Mike Watkins, David Dalton (Sandy) Rudd, Robert (Adrianne) Rudd, Richie (Tonda) Throgmorton, Rebecca Pope (Dan), Rachelle Ihnen (Matt), and David Thomas Jones; twenty great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Daves Rudd; his second wife, Lorenda Schmidt Rudd; a sister, Ella Parker; and two brothers, Elsmer Rudd and James Ray Rudd.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with Revs. Linda Creason and Mariann Lankton officiating. Inurnment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
