Services for Ray Burnett Penix, 84, of Fairfax, Va., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Roth Funeral Chapel with Terrie Penix officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mr. Penix died at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his home.
A native of Paducah, he was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and an accountant. Mr. Penix was a member of the Propellor Club in Paducah. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Doris Penix; two daughters, Joan Duffitt and husband, Dave, of Fairfax and Carolyn Ray Allen and husband, Phillip, of Wilmington, Va.; one sister, Wanda Goin of Paducah; two granddaughters, Lisa Hoffman of Carneys Point, N.J., and Kimberly Drabold of Newark, Del.; two great-grandsons, Ryan Hoffman and Seth Hoffman, both of Carneys Point; one great-granddaughter, Haylie Rae Drabold of Newark; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Keith Penix, and one brother, William Penix. His parents were Earl Penix and Lucy Ruark.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the funeral home.
