Rebecca Rutter Spain of Lake St. Louis, formerly of Paducah, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis after a brief illness.
Rebecca was born in Paducah, October 12, 1946. She was a 1964 honor graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. She then graduated from Western Kentucky University with degrees in English and Spanish.
Rebecca was a public school teacher and later worked in the law offices of McMurry and Livingston in Paducah. After moving to St. Louis, she worked in the offices of Tru Manufacturing Company for 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Spain of Lake St. Louis; a brother, Thomas H. Rutter of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a cousin, Linda A. Miller of Paducah.
Preceding in death were her parents, William L. (Bus) Rutter and Mary Ellen Bradshaw Rutter.
Following a memorial service in St. Louis, visitation will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah, Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Todd Brady officiating.
