Robert 'Leon' Cox

Robert "Leon" Cox, 68, of Paducah died Monday afternoon, November 16, 2009, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Cox was a riverboat engineer with Ingram, and was recently saved into the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother, Ella Mae Cox of Paducah; two daughters and son-in-laws, Bobbie and Noel McElya of West Paducah, and Robbie and Stephen Tarry of Kevil; one stepdaughter, Veronica Scheuers of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one stepson, Steve Burkeen of Princeton; six grandchildren, Ashley Harris of Brookport, Ill., Lacey Canter of Paducah, Mandy Heal, Kaitlyn Canter, and Karah Canter, all three of Kevil, and Peyton Salyers of West Paducah; four great-grandchildren, Kanton and Lathan Harris of Brookport, Ill., and Tanner and Bryleigh Heal of Kevil; one sister, Shirley Crowell of Princeton; as well as one niece, one nephew and several cousins.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his father, Cletus Cox of Paducah; one brother, William Cox of Paducah; and one sister, Carolyn Cox of Paducah, who died as a toddler.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday at Lindsey Funeral Home, with Brother Doug Hughes officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. for friends on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
