Rudolph Ragsdale, 99, of Paducah died at 5:55 a.m. Friday at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Ragsdale was a master carpenter. He worked 15 years with the McCormack Place in Chicago. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union for more than 50 years. He was a member of Stone Square Lodge #5, F &A.M., PHA. He was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church where he served as church treasurer, steward, trustee and groundskeeper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Avery L. Ragsdale; two sisters; and one brother. His parents were Burel and Mattie Mayes Ragsdale.
He is survived by one granddaughter, Sandra Coleman of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at St. John A.M.E. Church in Paducah, with the Revs. Barry Frazier and Charles W. Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Garden Cemetery in Paducah.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home in Paducah and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Masonic rites will be at 6 tonight.
