TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Ruth Elenora (Vannerson) McCain died in Terre Haute, Ind., on March 28, 2009.
She was born in Paducah, Ky., on Dec. 24, 1926, to Lillian Beyer Vannerson and Lester Duke "John" Vannerson. She attended Murray State University and earned a B.A. in Business Administration in 1947. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Elenora is a retired real estate agent and broker.
Elenora was preceded in death by a son, John Owen McCain; her husband, Owen McCain; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Vannerson; a sister, Dorothy Cox; and a brother, Duke Vannerson.
Elenora is survived by her children, Joyce Pickart, Karen Vanderbosch, Shirley Lance and Charles McCain; a brother, Robert Vannerson; and her 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home in Brazil, Ind., on Friday, April 3, 6-9 p.m. The service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Paducah, Ky., on Saturday, April 4, with visitation 2:30-4 p.m. and the service at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at Maplelawn Cemetery.
