Services for Sam A. Prather, 89, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Joe Flagg will officiate. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mr. Prather died at 2:40 a.m. Monday at Medco Center of Paducah.
A native of Corinth, Miss., he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and worked for Williams Construction Company. Mr. Prather was a member of Laborers' International Union of North America Local 1214.
Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Prather Thompson of Paducah; one brother, A.J. Prather of St. Louis; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two aunts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lathon Prather; two brothers; and one sister. His parents were Marshall Prather and Beatrice Mason Prather.
