Tony Lee Covington, age 48, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Paducah, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
He was a member of the Holy Ground Church of God in Christ. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and was employed as a painter at Millwood Corporation.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Lee Jones.
He is survived by one son, Tony Mason of Nashville, TN; his father, Clemmie Covington of Carruthersville, MO; six sisters, Demetria Jones- Smith of Nashville, TN, Zola Jones-Newburn of Paducah, LeSia Jones of Oak Grove, KY, Ineal Wilson of Columbus, GA , Vicky Jones of Clarksville, TN and Tracy Ricks of Antioch, TN; seven brothers, Clemmie Jones of Jonesboro, GA, Stephen Covington of Galloway, NJ, Ray Jones of Paducah, Kenneth Jones of Nashville, TN, Clarence Jarvis and Maurice Jarvis, both of Carruthersville, MO, and Clemmie Lane of Memphis, TN; devoted companion, Sarah Birdsong, Nashville, TN and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Christ Temple Apostolic Church with Pastor Anthony E. Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may also call on the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
