Velma Newberry

Services for Velma Ellis Newberry, 87, of Paducah will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. Thomas Williams and Curtis Harrell officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Cemetery.
Mr. Newberry died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lourdes hospital.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps World War II veteran, serving as staff sergeant, retired from Lourdes hospital as a purchasing agent, and was a member of East Baptist Church in Paducah.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Mary Prince Newberry; four brothers, Wilma Newberry of West Paducah, Louis Newberry of Mesa, Ariz., Don Newberry of Joshua, Texas, and Wayne Newberry of Wonder Lake, Ill.; four sisters, Inez Finke of Ballwin, Mo., Jean Hanson of Oregon and Nella May Litchfield and Billie June Gould, both of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Albert Levi Newberry and Myra Myrtle Wallis Newberry.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
